Microalgae environmental acclimation and identification of novel industrial-relevant species

Each microalga needs specific conditions to grow and these must to be defined. However microalgae respond to changes in light intensity, nutrient and CO2 availability by shaping their entire metabolism.

PAR-lab has substantial experience in screening extremophiles microalgae and cyanobacteria for the production of high value compounds, such as primary and secondary carotenoids, lipids and polysaccharides.

The research at PAR-Lab aims at developing the proper experimental conditions with a clear impact on productivity to assess the effect of specific environmental parameters as well as the combination of several parameters at the same time.
